Core Truth: Believing that every true believer wants to please God and receive His unqualified approval when we finally stand before Him, it is most encouraging to know that our ultimate success in that regard does not depend upon our faithfulness but upon His – and that His faithfulness cannot ever change! Such confidence enables us to live truly free in Christ, knowing that while we are not yet perfect, we one day shall be – and that even then that most generous gift given to each of us will not be on our deserving it but on His unchanging faithfulness.
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 1:4-9; 2 - I thank my God always for you because of the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus, so that in everything you were enriched in Him, in all speech and in all knowledge In this way our testimony about Christ was confirmed and established in you, so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift, as you eagerly wait with confident trust for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ when He returns. And He will also confirm you to the end blameless and beyond reproach in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful – He is reliable, trustworthy and ever true to His promise – He can be depended on, and through Him you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
2 Timothy 2:11-13 – Here is a trustworthy saying: If we died with Him, we will also live with Him; if we endure, we will also reign with Him. If we disown Him, He will also disown us; if we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot disown Himself.
