Sorry for the late update everyone. Yesterday was a great day from what I hear. I however, spent the entire day in bed with some type of stomach bug. Cheryl and Alice were nice enough to bring me food and medicine while Tom and David took on the leadership responsibilities.
The Lord is teaching me humility and dependence of fellow Christians during this trip. Thankfully, I am feeling much better this morning.
They went to a new school yesterday which was a little different from the ones they had been previously speaking in. In Czech, not everyone has the opportunity to go to the better schools and they do not view education as a fundamental right, but a privilege. This school was a little rough, but they still did well encouraging them to come to the sports events.
Speaking of which, there was a tremendous turn out for the sports time. Around 50 Czech youth showed up to learn baseball, football, tennis, and cowboy roping. After having been rained out the day before, the turnout was a great surprise.
The evening conversational English sessions/sharing testimonies was very well attended. It was the best attended of the 3 times it was done. It is very interesting to hear the reports from the conversations. Even though they have been inundated with evolution with no other theories allowed to counter it, many doubt it. David had a conversation with one of the school teachers here that had come to the conversational evenings. During that time, he shared with David that he had serious doubts about evoluntion in light of the complexity of nature. We found a similar view with a person my group was talking with the same night. That really gives us something to work with. However, this is a long term effort and we will probably never know the long term effect of what we have done.
Pictures will come soon. Please keep us in prayer as we head for Prague later tonight.
